name: Endymion Perseus Selwyn NICKNAMES: Ed, Perce, Percy, Endy, (other’s to be made I guess) gender: male age:twenty-six species / breed: human SEXUAL ORIENTATION: He’s not picky, so he’ll definitly go both ways openly.Which ever he feels the mood for :3 appearance: HAIR: Straight tresses of a bright gold define this young man in his family, aligning him with his fair mother, who too holds the blessing of a rare breed of man. Unlike his shady father, who was born with dark hair, to many’s surprise, Endymion was exactly the opposite. With bright hair to match his beloved mum’s, he’s one rare jewel to woo with his classic, sometimes mistakenly french look. EYES: Like his siblings, Endymion has inherited a vivid and cold pair of gray-blue eyes. With bright centers near the pupil stems nebula’s of the brightest of blues, which darken towards the edges in a deep sapphire. All seems to be veiled and grayscaled to a dimmed shade lined by dark lashes, almost feminine in appearance with eyes that delve deep in the character and soul of a certain Mr.Selwyn. BODY TYPE: At a young age, Endymion was always hailed the ‘scrawny child’ with twig bones and quick speed that always seemed to be set in motion. Although like all undeveloped molds, they grow into something different, be it useful, dysfunctional, comely, or hideous. Fortunatly for Mr Selwyn, it was the more positive of the outcomes who with the help of football (or soccer as they'd call it), swimming, and a love for fencing, developed a slim and healthy figure. While at 6`2 his body is not exactly what he’d like it to be, it’s thin composure is only slightly toned, yet one look at the man’s fluid movements is enough to see he has a level of grace and control over his muscles. Be it with sword, ball, or bone, he’s one to show his worth with nearly feline movements; a poise quite matched with his appearance.
ETHNICITY: 1/2 English and 1/2 Russian DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: + his eyes + dark eyebrows +high cheekbones (like his mother)
personality: ] Within a family of A’s, and O’s, like his very exotic mother, Endymion is the oddball that stands out. E. A letter that rests tall and out, with a platform to grow so many other stems beneath its roof. So strange that the family should choose to differentiate their eldest son so with an odd name such as Endymion, yet ultimately, it carved the boy into dashing young man he holds high to this day. It made him believe he was dissimilar from his family, yet more importantly, his father.
Endymion Selwyn had always been a strong lad, otherwise he’d probably be in some ditch somewhere or at the cruel bottom of a social food chain. The main reason for such traits is the simple talent of adaption. Like every creature of this world, the ones unfit for survival perish, while the ones who can cope evolve to further dominate a world full of opportunity. This cunning snake has done just that, taken a very bona fide earth in hand to mold it to his own liking. Nothing can truly bother him anymore, for anything unexpected is just what this pandemonium loving man strives for in life.
Yet to say Endymion Selwyn is a cold hearted beast not fit for anything but cruel intentions, you’d be quite wrong. Inside this complicated Russian doll are layers of compassion, incentive, and yes…Even love. Yet love is a weakness for Endymion, weaknesses being something he often detests. One such as a Selwyn, after all, cannot show such a trait, less they be thrown to the dogs in a vicious show of unconcern. Although at times he does show such ‘weakness’ as with his mother. Forever the woman has been Endymion’s idol and main life boat, someone he looks up to and nearly the only person in his family he truly holds pure undying love for. Be it their similarity in appearance, her caring touch and affection, or the simple mother-son bond the two hold, Endymion will do anything for his mother, and in the chance of her peril, you will find yourself with a face of Endymion Selwyn you’d rather not like to be aligned with.
Being caged is something Endymion does not accept. Freedom is something he’s embraced and taken flight with, being one of the few who could not wait to explore out from highschool after his time was done there. Self dependency was never a problem for this male, who took it upon himself at a young age to fend for himself. Unlike most who live in the moment of the life of a student, this Selwyn took it to heart as solely training for a far larger painting. Likewise, in the real world of realization, he fares well with the talent of adaption. Never one to have things given to him, Endymion prefers to work for things, including ‘friends’. Yet friends aren’t exactly something you can afford with the goals Endymion has in mind, so he rather likes to think of them as assets with healthy social standings taped along for the ride. Despite a wealthy fallback he can call out on anytime, he barely touches the inheritance waiting for him in his home in England, rather trying to fight for his own survival, a key trait in any leader.
Puzzles are intricate things, in which only the most patient of minds can handle. They take time, care, creativity, and a calculating mind that can see the whole picture before ever it is even conjured. With such in mind, you can barely fathom the type of mechanisms and gears that work behind Endymion’s skull that seems to solve such things as if it were second nature. It’s one of the things that define him in the society, in which he was quickly pinpointed as an extremely cunning and manipulative young man. Presented any situation, he was able to figure it out in a heartbeat or less, and then further mold the ignorant minds to best fit his own advantage. In any case, Mr Selwyn loves to take on challenges that push the limits of his intelligence, for in his mind, that’s the only way he is able to grow and truly test his ever calculating mentality.
Charming has always been pushed to the limits in its definition, reduced to something of personal preference and the key factor. Lust. For even if someone utters something so uncouth and vulgar, in the fancied mind, it can seem words of pure silk. Most is the case of Endymion, yet in two ways does the string often unfurl. Ever has the young man been of particular silver tongue, able to talk his way into or out of anything he pleases. While flirting and wooing takes a large part of his life, it often distracts onlookers from the true intentions behind such a steel heart. Despite a constant need for ‘action’ and ‘fun’, a hopeless romantic beast looms deep within the hollow of his chest, veiled by the proceedings of a hiding heart who cannot seem to choose its destination without changing its mind within sight of such a jewel. With such a slick tongue, Endymion often gets what he wants, a fueling downfall in a growing arrogance and ego that runs the young man’s life. Although this fatal trait more than often blinds his vision, a competitive streak shines all the brighter which brings us to our next significant feature. It’s almost sad in how very cruel and nasty dear Endymion can get when forced with rivalry. His need to always be the best stimulates an immortal steam engine that never seems to give up until its position on top is stable and solidified. Always Endymion craves to do everything on his own, for in any other way, if there is a shortcoming, he knows it was his own doing. Even in such cases they are rare, for Mr Slewyn has an almost perfectionist sense of organization. A necessitate for everything to be in working order, labeled, and run exactly as his mind conjured them as is no farfetched fantasy, considering how the young man’s very own mind works. With clean sheets, structured plans, and always one step ahead, Endymion Selwyn is always one to impress with his prepared sense on life.
On the fact of family though, Endymion often strays from points. Families were always meant to be conjoined, happy, and it wasn’t until he actually saw a real functional one did he realize the pandemonium his own was holed in. Chaos was something Selwyn always loved, with his gift to thrive in such situations starkly apparent; he rather likes to create conditions that pertain with such anarchy. With his family, it truly is a whole other situation. It’s a complicated rubix cube that he’s ultimately figured out, yet the stress comes with his inability to mold it to his liking. His mother, in whom he absolutely adores, comes first on his list, who always took a partly biased liking to her eldest son. Second, comes his almost death grip love on his youngest sister. Always the two made a special bond, not quite as connected as the other Selwyn children, in which lasted even into Endymion’s twenty-sixth year. While the other two siblings were still held in a place of his controlling heart, there was never quite the correlation in which he made with Illara and Isis. Of course last, comes Marcus. Perhaps it was the cruel way the temperamental man treated the boy, or added with the fueling and often revolting thought that Endymion saw some defining traits of his old man in himself. Either way, Endymion abhors his father, and will most likely end the man’s life sooner rather than late.
Like Elizabeth I, the ancient and esteemed human queen of England, Endymion’s sponge of a mind seems to simply suck in information and lessons like a starved leach, and like that long dead monarch, language is something he particularly wets his feet with. Russian was a given, in light that his mother was 100%, yet he caught on quite quickly with others including French, Italian, Latin—reading of course, and quite a few others. He takes language as a beatific form of art, which he similarly admires. Be it music, paintings, languages, or even war (which he finds breathtakingly stunning), he’s one to show his worth in his appreciation of all types of show either in action, or observation.
From the moment those stormy blue eyes opened up upon the world to now, in which they stare down upon it with opportunity, Endymion Selwyn is one to show his choices and complexity that cannot ever be covered, even in the largest of books. Like the puzzles and enigma this rising star so loves to solve, he himself is such. Multifarious beyond any normal beings comprehension, he’s one to flash his feathers yet always keeping a color hidden for further surprise.

• octavius selwyn {twenty} PETS: While shopping at the market, His mother ran across a darling owl and bought it for her eldest son. Much to his detest, it was a pygmy owl, yet he tries to make up for it claiming it’s a ‘girl charmer’ and dubbing it with a powerful name (which no doubt makes the poor thing more comical).

STRENGTHS: |++| Manipulative `` is something that was developed throughout childhood with Endymion. Being a Selwyn means being able to mold situations to your benefit, without such a talent, you’ll ultimately perish. It’s become quite a game with the young man, who enjoys puzzles and gently shifting each piece to play with the minds of the pawns of the game.
|++| Witty `` and smart, a quick mind is a defining attribute of Endymion Selwyn, who’s mind would do any scholar proud. A strength in any situation, his ability to think out of the box with sharp reaction and creativity helps him in any pickle that presents itself. His wit is defiantly a calling card of this interesting englishman who’s mind is grows within a hard cranium.
|++| Independence ``runs in the Selwyn family, a needed characteristic to survive. With a busy mother and ‘not always there’ father, self dependence was needed at a fairly early age, developing a quick matured lad who takes no orders lightly, rather liking to make his own rules and depend no loyalties on others but the most dependent person of all. Himself.
|++| Proud ``might be something people would categorize as a fault, yet in Endymion’s case, it’s quite the contrary. At a young age, his ability to own up to mistakes whole heartedly has earned the respect of both his peers and elders, bringing a new sort of proceeding reputation to the young man.
|++| Competitive ``and a player of cards, Endymion’s competitive strength almost borders perfectionist status. His need to be the best at everything he does can be considered unhealthy at times, yet overall, when your standards are always at 110%, even if you fall a little flat, you still pass by with flying colors.
WEAKNESSES: |--| Arrogant ``is something Endymion occasionally has a problem with. His high esteem of himself has him thinking rather highly of himself in any situation.
|--| Rude `` is what Endymion Selwyn occasionally comes off as, taken into account with his independent traits. It’s occasionally taken rather standoffish and inconsiderate despite his ability to be quite charming at times.
|--| Sarcastic `` and smooth, he sometimes draws it out to a point of fueling dislike that others hold for him. While others might like this spunk he seems to hold, the rest just find it plain annoying.
|--| Self Centered `` is practically a must in a stuck up purebred family like the Selwyns. Although he’s not as extreme as others in his house, he does hold a bit of a mammoth ego, even if he does a better job at hiding it then others.
|--| Unforgiving ``and revengeful, Mr Selwyn can never truly let go of a wrong done to him. This can be easily demonstrating in his extreme hate of his father. Although the things the man did to his son /were/ horrible, the almost unhealthy hate Endymion holds for him exemplifies this very unforgiving young man.
|--| Love `` is something pure, fresh, and eternal. In a way, Endymion fears love, therefore tries not to attach himself to anyone in particular. His mother, of course, is an exception, yet he still finds her as a weakness in himself and is reminded of that every time the boggart changes for him.

*history:The Dignified Class are not supposed to be a picky sort. They are made for general reasons of mating, working, and raising more snot nosed silver sthingyed children with the blood not stained. A fine example of such marriages often not guided by pure, unconditional love is the sorts of Isis Tarasova and Marcus Selwyn. With Marcus, ‘work’ always came first, and often clouded and merged with his personal life. Although besides such a point, even in arranged marriages, a forced pair often grows bonds not generally anticipated.
It was not particularly expected, yet a joyous news when Isis was first pregnant, and with a male, no less! Something felt special about this particular pregnancy, and she did her best to stay strong during the previous period in which her husband was held prisoner in Farlois. Ever one to know the background facts on everything and to think outside the box, the young woman had hardly a care in the world on that night of feburary 13th, a Friday to be exact. A few minutes before the ‘beloved’ day was over, a screaming child was birthed into the word. Soon after, a tired mother cradled her child who stared back at her with stormy blue eyes. Her first impression of the boy in her arms was his beauty and similarity. Blonde with eyes that sparkled like the sea, her mind immediately went out to noble greek and roman days. Endymion, she decided upon for the greek youth reknowned for his beauty. Perseus, a grand and noble hero of mythology, and of course the surname that was attached to their long lived name. Selwyn. She knew from the moment he giggled up with pudgy hands that he would be different, and beyond any power on earth or other plane of existence, she would cradle and protect this child with her very life.
The proceeding years crept slowly, and upon Marcus’s return at the age of three, Endymion did his best to learn quickly of his father’s cruel ways. Unlike most would think, Endymion was not very close with his siblings. At the age of five, the boy started to realize the very stark differences between himself and the rest of the children, and rather looked to his mother for idolization. Besides the point, he holds love for his brothers and sisters, particularly the young daughter of his family, even if it is not the strongest of sorts. It’s a tough, brotherly, and sometimes overprotective personality that rears in the face of his younger siblings, who he has taken more of seeds to help grow, then anything in his life.
It was at the tender age of seven when Endymion first truly learned the definition of suffering. It was a simple and unaware find of an ancient, English slavery, native coin. Of course his father found it, and decided to enact a ‘lesson’ of discipline upon his eldest boy in the form of verba, physicall and horrific torment. To this day, it still haunts his nightmares and fuels a growing antagonism he holds towards his father.
Like any bright child, he showed signs of intelligence throughout his adolescent life and when he received a letter, mostly his mother, was simply erratic and excited. All in the family knew she hoped her cunning son would be chosen into Farlow's School for Boys. She knew how very important it might be for his future, yet she knew either way it might go…Endymion Selwyn was different. Regardless if it was school, apprenticeship, or heaven forbid, nothing at all! He would set apart the status quo of any situation, as he often liked to.
Endymion, being a prestigious name in the english society, was of course put into competition against any Darkow, no less one in his own school. A deep rooted, testosterone driven rivalry pit Endymion against the lad from the moment he stared at the slightly self resembling boy. Be it friendly rivalry, or one far more ill intended, it’s not one to say what Mr Selwyn holds in his ever mechanic cranium, or what he has planned for the future.
Yet the last year at school is one to fool. Like his mother predicted, even in a place full of ignorance and grouse Endymion set apart the status quo of the snobby spoiled students who refuse to talk to anyone outside their house in a civilized manner. The idea of it reminds him of his father, so he strays as far as possible from such interaction. Instead, open, sarcastic, cold, even spiteful, Silver-tongued Endymion is ever one to enchant and charm throughout his life to gain a higher monarchy in the chess game he calls life.
Now graduated from the school, he works his way up through society, creating friends…And enemies in the much larger picture of the world. With an inheritance and name like Selwyn standing behind him, Endymion has made no rush towards any specific job. Instead, he travels the word with head bent low, creating alliances and experiences as he slowly creeps forward into the light and fights for a prestigious position into the ever powerful sense of the word. Reputation.
For a few years now he's lodged in the Port of Sharkstead, enjoying the sea more then any could even fathom. His strange love for the thing has set him as part of the crew on a Schooner 'Fallen Fate', taking trips out into shipping lanes, or just leisurely snorkels out in the reefs. He's finally found a place he can enjoy himself, and perhaps even...call home.
